A 60 page research paper describing the cultural and civil contributions made by Black Catholics in Los Angeles during the early 1900s. Includes profiles of Black Catholic leaders, some of whom migrated to Los Angeles from Louisiana and Texas, as well Black Catholics native to the city. Also describes the Catholic churches which supported the Black community. The paper includes a bibliography, photocopies of photographs, and a list of the churches and institutions connected with Black Catholics in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
